Leaving a legacy in building next generation leadership
Dear Friends,
How many of us truly think of leaving a legacy so that a healthy generation can be built with credible, affordable, excellent and purposeful education with Biblical values.
We have a great opportunity build three schools with a special grant of $100,000 as a matching grant. We would like for you to get involved to build a healthier India and leave a legacy!
Do you know?
!! 40% of India's population is below the age of 18 years which at 400 million is the world's largest child population.
!! At least 35 million children aged 6 - 14 years do not attend school.
!! 53% of girls in the age group of 5 to 9 years are illiterate.
!! 1 in 40, primary school in India is conducted in open spaces or tents.
!! India has over 3 million children living on the streets
!! In India, only 53% of habitation has a primary school
!! Large numbers of children work simply because there is no alternative - since, they do not have access to good quality schools.
!! The number of children who are not in school remains high.
!! Gender disparities in education persist: far more girls than boys fail to complete primary school.
Friends, it is a great door that God has opened for you to get involved in the lives of the children who will become the leaders of our nation.
I want to share with you one of our children from our Child Development center to let you know the impact in had in his life.
"I am Pandian from Neduvarampakkam village. Since there was no one to help in my studies I started to attend the child development center of HBI. At the center the teachers took personal care and helped me to do my home work daily. I completed my 12th grade and am now doing Bachelor of law.
As Child development center made a difference in my life, I want to express my gratitude so I teach at the center in the evening after I come back from the college. After getting a job, I want to help start another 10 centers.
My dream is that every child in my village be given an opportunity to study and to come up in life to serve the nation".
The purpose of the school is to build an environment that will lay a strong foundation in every child attending the school and to provide an opportunity to attend school and impart the best knowledge, develop skill, and values so the God- given abilities in each of them are developed to make them transformational leaders to serve the society.
The aim of the school is to develop a value based, efficient, disciplined, and a holistic individual by equipping their skills, abilities and values so that they become key leaders in the development of society.
The President of India once said, "…I dream of an India in which every child can go to school, no child goes hungry and in which all children have the opportunity to learn, play, be healthy and to live a life of dignity and self-respect…"
Today, we are standing on the shoulders of those who made sacrifice to see us come up in life, and it is our responsibility to lend our shoulders to the next generation so that we see a better and healthier generation.
