Endless Praises... Boundless Opportunities
Dear Friends,
Did you know on a given day 235,000 people say “yes” to Jesus Christ? This is an increase from 165,000 reported by Jack Dennison at the turn of the year 2000. In a period of 10 years the average growth per day has increased by 70,000 which is an average increase of 43% Wow! God is at work!
The church is growing globally and the largest growth of the church in the last forty years are experienced in countries like Latin America, Africa, India, China, where millions are turning to Jesus! Praise the Lord!
The most interesting thing about how God is facilitating this growth is not through those highly sophisticated and trained theologians but through the simple barefoot, grass root pastors and church planters that are in villages of many of these countries, faithfully proclaiming the Gospel and discipling people to Himself.
John, a pastor of an independent church in the state north of Chennai attended one of our informal trainings that enable pastors to mobilize and equip their churches to multiply churches. At the end of the training he said “I finally understood that it is my responsibility to equip the saints and release them to fulfill the great commission”
While he was in the training he set a goal to target 18 unreached villages. Praise God in the last 12 months, he envisioned his church and equipped his people and already they have planted 8 churches. He continues to equip the people in his church and presently have 10 more who are being discipled and trained so that they can help fulfill his goal of seeing 18 churches planted in 18 unreached villages.
John was never trained in a theological seminary and like John there are thousands of church planters all over India who are faithfully serving the Lord in fulfilling His mission. The only times they get trained is in short seminars and pastors conferences.
This year HBI is hosting another such conference from 2nd through 7th August for the barefoot pastors that are part of HBI strategic force to plant churches all over our nation. They will come from 22 different states. During our conference, our vision will be reinforced, the pastors will be encouraged and our partners who come to train will join us in equipping them. The pastors will set new goals and be revived and renewed in their hearts to go back and serve their churches and its mission.
The theme of the conference is “Endless Praises… Boundless Opportunities”. Our prayer is that each pastor, church planter, cross cultural missionary and college students will gain a passion for God and for the unreached people as God has graciously kept the doors open before us. We would like to see that they prepare themselves to launch towards the vision 2020 and work towards laying the foundation to finish the task and finish it well.
Friends, first of all we want you to please begin praying for the conference at least once a week.
Pray for the planning, the conference teachers, speakers and the participants.
Pray for God’s powerful intervention in all of our lives to sincerely commit to gain a passion for God and the unreached people.
Pray that everyone will catch a vision for 2020 to see 200,000 pastors equipped to train 5 pastors and plant 5 churches, so a million churches would have been established in India.
Pray for the physical arrangements, travel and accommodation for the participants.
Pray for the finances to be provided. Your prayers make a significant difference.
The total need of the conference is $36,500 and we have received $3500/- On an average it costs only $50 to bring an indigenous pastor from the mission field, provide board and lodge and train him for 6 days in the conference. You can sponsor 1 pastor, 5 pastors, 10 pastors or more, that will make an incredible impact in the lives of these simple grass root village pastors to be envisioned and equipped to serve the Lord effectively.
Please consider the opportunity you have before you to invest in the kingdom by equipping these simple village church planters whom God is using to build His church but desperately need training. Every dollar you invest will multiply in seeing people reached with the Gospel, churches planted, and unreached people discipled and equipped for Christ.
