Knocked down but not knocked out!
Dear Friends,
Last night was a very difficult night and a challenge to three of our staff. Praise God they are still alive. One of them was kidnapped, driven in a car, taken to an unknown place, beaten up and then later on thrown into a field hoping he would die. The second one was chased by another group in a car, dragged by his feet into an agricultural field, beaten up and smothered in the slush of a pond. Praise God it is a miracle that he did not die.
As I listened to this traumatic experience, I remembered the words of the Apostle Paul who said "we are hard-pressed on every side but not crushed, perplexed but not in despair, persecuted but not abandoned, struck down but not destroyed". Hallelujah because we serve a Risen King!
Ministry in the Northern part of India is not easy. All over the North the Church is experiencing an incredible amount of persecution for the cause of their faith, the proclamation of the Gospel and the discipling of the unreached.
I must confess that God is at work! People from all over North India are turning to the Lord, churches are emerging in homes, villages like never before. The devil is not happy but Praise God Jesus said, "I will build my church". The gates of Hades would not prevail against it.
India is seeing unprecedented growth and all over the nation people are turning to our Lord Jesus Christ. However, our greatest challenge is, the harvest is plenteous but the laborers are few. I am writing this letter asking you to help us fulfill our mission of building transformational leaders in Northern India.
Last year because of the partnership of a number of churches, foundations and individuals God enabled us tom equip 2,359 North Indian transformational leaders. Praise the Lord!
We need your help! We have a foundation that has made a commitment to provide $25,000 as a matching grant to continue our efforts in building transformational Rajasthani leaders, mobilizing the church in the state of Rajasthan and equipping the saints. In order for us to receive $25,000 from the foundation we need to match this grant.
God is doing incredible things for us. I just finished a training program along with a missionary, Patrick Oconnor from Honduras. We equipped about 125 pastors and trainers of trainers to facilitate the establishment of church planting movements in the state of Rajasthan. These men were so excited at the end of the training that they could not express how thankful they were as they talked about building rabbit churches and elephant churches and how they saw the saturation of the state with many rabbit churches and may be a few elephant churches. But through the process of equipping and enabling the people in their churches, they saw the hope for the state of Rajasthan.
For the next four years we are committed to continue the process of developing leadership for the state of Rajasthan and the pastors of North India so that much of Rajasthan will have the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Men and women in India are willing to suffer for Christ. I want you to help us to equip them so they can serve our Lord in an effective way in fulfilling His mission.
