Your prayers are being answered!

Dear Friends,

I want you to know that your prayers for our brethren in Orissa are being answered. Thank you so very much for your continuous support in lifting these brothers and sisters in prayer to our Heavenly Father.

First answer to your prayer is the state and central Governments are taking some serious efforts to curb the culprits and have arrested over 1200 people who were involved in burning down Christian houses and churches. They have also set up 14 relief camps and were giving one square meal every day. The Government has posted Police and Para Military personnel in the relief camps site so that anti-social and anti-Christian people do not enter the camp to poison the food or beat the Christians.

Secondly thank you for praying for the international community to get involved in this. Kandamal is now under the coverage of all the media channels. The pressure has come from the international community and now since 3 days not much violence has been reported. Situation seems to be clam and enquiries have been ordered on the police men who were watching the atrocities that were happening in front of their eyes.

Thirdly, thank you for praying for our brothers and sisters that their faith is strengthened. We heard from our church planters that inside the relief camp they have been worshipping the Lord and comforting one another with God's word. Praise the Lord!

A 14 year young girl studying 9th grade, from Burakama village in Kandamala district shared that anti-Christians attacked her house and have beaten all the family members and raped her and poured petrol on her body to kill her. The whole body was burnt but somehow God protected her. It is very difficult to hear her story.

When asked about her faith in Jesus, she said that she is more close to God now than before. She is not questioning God why all these things happened to her. She loves Jesus and wanted to follow Him until the end of her life. (http://prayerfellowships.org/support/)

Fourthly, thank you for praying for the ministries of HBI and the all overall strategic plan that God has given 5Rs - Relief, Rehabilitation, Restoration, Rebuilding and Revitalization.

Now we want you to please pray as the state Government is slowing opening doors for outsider NGOs to come into the state to help these people. We will be sending a small team from Chennai to do the survey and to start the relief work.

Please pray as we proceed with our 5R overall plan, that God will give us wisdom and favor in the eyes of the Government to adopt atleast one relief camp that has an average of 4,000 people and help them through Physical, Emotional, Economical and Spiritual Rehabilitation.

Next we would like to move to the state of rebuilding the community so the villages are cleaned, houses and churches are rebuilt and people are revitalized to become God's most powerful instrument.
